Since OCR A biology is a subject which requires significant knowledge along with the already demanding application skills, I was initially struggling to find a way to learn content since the OCR course unfortunately doesn’t contain many great sources of content with even its textbook being difficult and excessive to learn through. Stempathy was my primary use of knowledge and what I used to ensure I had a good depth of understanding regarding topics before hitting exam questions, the textbook was a great source with very helpful diagrams and also broke down many complex processes (Module 5). It also highlighted aspects of the content often overlooked on which I found really enabled me to reach a confident A grade in my exam (the synoptic links between the topics which is often used by the course to distinguish higher grade students). On top of this, it summarised all the topics and added a model answer applying the knowledge in an exam question which was also very useful as it showed me exactly how to transition the content into answers. I often used the spec related revision notes to cover large chunks of topics for recap and additionally used the flashcards which are in a lot of detail to cover and reinforce my weaker topics. Would definitely recommend!!”
